If you’re a Martial Artist who is looking for a way to improve your Kali-Eskrima training but also committed to giving you and your students the best material to learn, then this is an opportunity that you do not want to pass up.

The biggest mistake a Martial Artist can make in personal training or instructing is doing either without a curriculum to follow.

Many Martial Art academies teach their students without a curriculum to fall back on, and many students find themselves under instructors who do not offer an organized curriculum for their students to access and follow.

This can severely hinder a student’s learning process and can be difficult for instructors to keep track of what level their students are in their training.

Professor Jeff Patterson is proud to present…

Professor Jeff Patterson’s “Arco De Cadea” is a comprehensive and in-depth Kali-Eskrima curriculum that includes a lifetime’s worth of material. This material can be used to train a novice in Filipino Arts to a full-fledged instructor. The amount of depth and instruction this curriculum offers cannot be found anywhere else.

This curriculum is influenced by many legendary instructors of Kali-Eskrima that Professor Jeff Patterson has trained with. These include Punong Guro Edgar Sulite, Guro Ted LucayLucay, Punong Guro Leonard Trigg and Guro Dan Inosanto.

You might be thinking: “Well, why would this be important to me?”

If you answered “Yes!” to any one of these questions, keep reading to see why this is important…

Let’s say you’re a new/seasoned student to Kali-Eskrima and  you’re looking to learn as much as possible while being as efficient as you can. This can be difficult if all you can depend on is your own notes and memory to keep the techniques in a place for reference.

Not to mention the time and effort it takes to write down and decipher what you were just taught in Tagalog.

Having a curriculum cuts that time and effort away and can speed up your learning process so something that would normally take 10 years to accumulate without a curriculum, can be learned in 3 years with a curriculum. You’ll become an expert in no time.

From an instructor’s perspective, teaching and demonstrating techniques becomes much simpler. All the hard work in formatting and organization is done.

Everything is laid out for your students to see and follow along as you teach and this gives you more time for repetitions and teaching new moves.

You will be able to keep track of your students’ progress and guide them through their level of training.

If you’re an academy owner, you can expect attrition rates to be cut. If you don’t know what your attrition rate is, this is more of a reason to implement a more organized system with an in-depth curriculum.

The attrition rate for an academy is how many students that leave on a monthly basis. If an academy has 100 students and by the end of the month they lose 10 students, their attrition rate is 10%. Every month they would need to sign up 10 new students to break even.

If the attrition rate dropped from 10% to 8%, two more students would be retained for that month.

By the end of the year, the school’s growth would increase by 24 students. Within 4 years the academy would almost double in size, just from that small change in percentage.

Many long-time students who decide to leave say they were bored of the training, or they didn’t see the benefits to what they were doing anymore.

By having a curriculum with specific levels and rankings, the attrition rate will drop by putting a goal in your students’ minds and have them progress towards the next level in their curriculum. This will motivate students and push them to their next level while they see an improvement in their skills.

Having a detailed curriculum will also create seniority between the students. Students will be recognized for what rank or level they have passed, and will be able to track their own improvements throughout their time training.

This will help motivate the lower ranked students by giving them someone to look up to and leave the higher ranked students feeling accomplished for what they have done.
